Marine Membership

Welcome to the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Brotherhood Association (EGABA)

The Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Brotherhood Association (EGABA) is a community of United States Marines dedicated to fellowship, service, honor, and lifelong camaraderie. We proudly uphold the bonds forged in the United States Marine Corps and carry those values beyond military service by fostering a brotherhood that supports one another throughout life's journey.

EGABA welcomes all Marines who have earned the title "Marine," regardless of race, color, gender, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, or religious belief. We are united not by our differences, but by our shared commitment to the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

Member Participation

EGABA is strengthened by the active involvement of every member. Membership is more than paying dues—it is a commitment to serving one another and supporting the success of the Association.

Members are encouraged to participate by:

  • Volunteering their time and talents.
  • Assisting with planning and conducting meetings and events.
  • Providing resources such as vehicles, equipment, or meeting facilities when available.
  • Introducing individuals, organizations, or businesses that can enhance EGABA programs and community outreach.
  • Supporting the Association through dues, assessments, fundraising, sponsorships, and voluntary donations.

Every contribution—large or small—helps strengthen our Brotherhood and expand our ability to serve Marines and our communities.

Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership is available to individuals who have not earned the title of United States Marine but who have demonstrated exceptional support for the mission, values, and objectives of the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Brotherhood Association (EGABA). Honorary Membership recognizes those individuals whose dedication, service, and commitment contribute to the success and growth of the Association.

For purposes of these Bylaws, an Honorary Member is any individual who has not graduated from United States Marine Corps Recruit Training (Boot Camp), Marine Corps Officer Candidates School (OCS), or as a Marine graduate of the United States Naval Academy.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for Honorary Membership, an individual must:

  • Be sponsored by a current EGABA Marine member in Good Standing.
  • Support the mission, values, and objectives of the Association.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the success and growth of EGABA.

The sponsoring Marine member accepts responsibility for mentoring, guiding, and representing the Honorary Member throughout the membership process and during their membership in the Association.

Prospective Honorary Member Process

Individuals interested in becoming Honorary Members may attend one (1) All-Hands Meeting as a guest of their sponsoring Marine member.

If interested in joining EGABA, the prospective Honorary Member may attend a second (2nd) All-Hands Meeting to become more familiar with the Association and its membership. During this meeting, the prospective member shall be formally introduced and acknowledged by the sponsoring Marine member.

Following attendance at the second All-Hands Meeting, the prospective Honorary Member shall decide whether to accept membership in EGABA.

Upon acceptance, the individual shall pay all applicable initiation fees, assessments, and annual dues necessary to establish membership in Good Standing.

Rights and Privileges

Honorary Members are valued members of the EGABA family and shall be treated with dignity, respect, fairness, and appreciation.

Honorary Members are encouraged to:

  • Attend All-Hands Meetings.
  • Participate in annual fellowship events and other Association activities.
  • Volunteer their time, talents, and resources in support of EGABA programs and events.
  • Support the mission and objectives of the Association through active participation and community service.

Honorary Members may present ideas, concerns, recommendations, or suggestions to the Executive Board of Trustees through their sponsoring Marine member or by other procedures established by the Association.

Membership Limitations

Honorary Membership is a position of trust and support and does not carry the same governing authority as Marine Membership.

Accordingly, Honorary Members:

  • Shall not serve on the Executive Board of Trustees (EBOT).
  • Shall not attend Executive Board of Trustees meetings unless specifically invited by the President for a designated purpose.
  • Shall not vote on matters involving the governance, policies, finances, elections, or operations of the Association.
  • Shall not hold elected executive offices within EGABA.
  • Shall not be eligible for Lifetime Membership.

Responsibilities

Honorary Members are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the EGABA Constitution, Bylaws, Code of Conduct, and all organizational policies. They are expected to uphold the reputation of the Association, support its mission, and demonstrate the same respect, integrity, and professionalism expected of every member.

Honorary Membership is granted in recognition of an individual's commitment to supporting the Marine Corps Brotherhood and advancing the mission of the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Brotherhood Association.

"While Honorary Members may not have earned the title Marine, they earn our respect through their dedication, service, and unwavering support of the Brotherhood."
